What can I do with the coffee I used?
I was thinking about it when doing my coffee, Maybe I can put it in my plants or something like that? Do you have an idea? Do you have such use of it?
Do you wear cotton clothes or...
Cotton wears are mostly used by people across the globe, especially during summer season. People tend to look attractive in cotton wears! Mostly i use cotton wears only. Women are gorgeous in cotton! Very beautiful! So, do you wear cotton dress daily?
Plant Helper
I add used coffee grounds aropund the stems of various veggies and flowers in my yards. it helps to keep away dangerous insects and ants mostly. It also adds nutrients to the soil as they are watered down. Have you ever done this for your garden and or plants at all? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~
how can i make a compost pit?
hi! i live in a condo unit and i feel that we have so much food wastage. i am planning to make a compost pit but i plan to put them in pots. we have no backyard with soil since we are on the 7th floor. i have tried doing research on the internet but have found very little tips on making a mini compost. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do You Enjoy Helping the Enviroment or Do You Find It More of A Hassle?
I actually enjoy it. I like taking steps to reduce wasting supplies whether it be plastics, paper, electrictiy, or gas.
Nature and weather that affect compost materials.
If you think about gathering up leaves, grass, weeds, and other organic stuff that are to be composted, in a big pile, the rainy weather will certainly rot up the material because of bacteria. And the sunny weather will certainly convert all that material into usable soil. But with a new machine, the compostumbler, you will certain rotate the drum so that the organic material you collect will mix up. The air will enter the machine to build a heat core. As you spin the machine every single day, the material mixes, rebuilding the core. That makes the material turn into compost, a lot better than ordinary soil. In fourteen days, you will get freshly ground, brown gold, compost, made out of organic material, to be used as soil. I would love to someday own my own composting business within my home. That way I can make lots of money, selling all that compost I sell to customers. I wonder what you think. Just go to www.compostumbler.com to check out the ComposTumbler company, based in Pennsylvania. It is the recycling of organic materials into new and usable soil.
How many people have compost piles?
I have been putting my compostable materials right on the garden to be turned over in the spring and broken down by bacteria and earthworms. I do not have the room for a compost pile so I compost right in the garden. Several years I would pile the soil high where I was going to plant and in the walk ways I would put the compostable material. I am no longer at that place so I do not know how that worked out. What I want to know is how many different ways thee are to compost materials beside s the compost pile? Please let everyone know how you have done composting.
We may be Trialling Recycling Food Scraps!
Recently I saw on TV that three councils in Adelaide are going to trial recycling food waste. The councils will give out these special little plastic bins & biodegradable bags, & we put the food scraps in this, & when full, dump it in the main bin. I am very much hoping that my council is one of the three trialing this. I have a lot of foodscraps, especially vegetables, as we have nearly all home cooked food.
Compost
I've just planted some vegetables in my veggie garden and I would like to start making my own compost. I really don't want to spend money on a compost bin so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make my own with minimal effort? My veggie patch is very small so I couldn't fit a large bin in it. I'm also not too sure about how compost works, for example how do you know when it's ready to use on your garden? If anyone can give me some tips that'd be great.
A third of food thrown away.
In the UK they are trying to highlight the amount of food waste that is generated. Up to one third of food is thrown away. This is so crazy! Not only is it a waste of food that other people could have but also a waste of money. Just imagine if your grocery bill was one third less, you'd be happy. We try to waste very little and what is left over is either given to the dog, our hens or goes in the composter. How do you try to keep food waste to a minimum?
