Tre Arrow is an environmental activist who was involved in many campaigns to save old-growth forests. While in
Canada in 2004, he was arrested for trying to steal a pair of bolt cutters to access food in locked
dumpsters. Currently in custody there, Tre is now
fighting extradition to the United States to face charges alleging that he was part of a group
that caused $250,000 in damage to cement and logging trucks in Oregon. No evidence exists
linking Tre to these actions, but three cooperating witnesses gave testimony to the court that
he was the "ringleader" of their group. If convicted, Tre could be sentenced to prison for
the rest of his life, though the actions harmed nobody. Tre's counsel does not believe he could get a fair trial in the
United States, and are fighting the extradition order.
Tre's counsel has set a bail hearing for April 18, 2007. If this hearing is successful, he will be
released on sureties posted by his family and friends while his appeal fighting extradition is considered.
